Being a new graduate means I have plenty of time to invest in small projects
My first endeavour was to re-decorate and style my bedroom. I had been long tired of the drab browns and vintage decor. I wanted to modernise my room with a more minimal, Scandinavian style which has been very inspiring to me. However waiting for furniture is taking an age! I cannot wait to get my Scandinavian bedroom finished! I loved teaching myself how to weave and my first attempt worked really well! I would love to make more in different colourways to sell (if I can part with them!). I also struggled to find bed linen that was cheap, in a style that I liked. I have also been doing a lot more experimentation with portraiture, experimenting will smaller scales such as A3 since I am used to working with large A2 scale, it is challenging to condense all of the detail into such a small medium. I have also started to experiment with full-colour portraiture using prismacolor pencils. This was a great challenge for me but I LOVE the results, usually I despise drawing hair as it is so tedious, however, using prismacolour, the hair is perhaps my favourite part! I would love to experiment with prismacolor portraits further, concentrating on eyes, skin tones and other facial features. I find it much harder to achieve a sense of realism with prismacolor, however, I LOVE how the hair turned out on this piece I drew of Miss Fame from RuPaul's Drag Race.
